Postprocessing

The postprocessing comprises the calculation of the data written to the output files.

Optionally, it includes price polishings based on dual variables and dispatches to improve price realism while maintaining consistency with other results. This process is disabled by default in the project configuration. It encompasses the following:

• Polishing prices reaching price limits by adjusting them to the cost of the running unit with highest-cost within the price zone
• Applying markups to bids based on start-up costs of thermal power plant
• Applying markdowns to bids based on avoided starts of thermal power plants
• Recalculating market coupling (price zones) based on spot market bids and exchanges
